Hats worn included a variety of bonnets, a Ship's captain, Court Jester, a hat filled to the brim with ear-rings, After a short briefing on some of QSA's projects with Aboriginal communities, awards were given for the most Elegant, most Interesting, most Historical and most Simple Hat among others.
The party, which was enjoyed by all, managed to raise over $2,000 which went to Quaker Service Australia. What a tremendous effort! Photos: David and Chris (L) as Captain and Jester, and Stephen (R) with his mathematical hat.
Visit of Zohl de Ishtar to Sydney
On Thursday 25th February Quaker Service Australia had the pleasure of welcoming Zohl de Ishtar to share with Sydney Friends the story of the Kapululangu Aboriginal Women's Association in Balgo, WA. Through a photographic presentation and personal anecdotes Zohl captivated the audience and encouraged a vigorous discussion about remote Aboriginal communities.
